| Have
you ever wondered what life would
have been like before the invention
of Electricity, Television, or even
Matches?
Or have you ever
considered the possibility of finding
yourself trapped in a wilderness environment
without the modern technology we all
take for granted? Could you survive?
We believe in the
Scout motto “Be prepared”,
and the best form of preparation is
the accumulation of knowledge. Learning
to live comfortably in the outdoors
does not require supernatural abilities,
but a practical understanding of the
basic principles and techniques that
will enable you to adapt confidently
to any environment.
Dryad Bushcraft offers
a range of specialised Bushcraft and
Survival Courses that have been designed
to teach the skills and techniques
of Bushcraft in a safe and enjoyable
way.

Most
of our courses are based on the Gower
Peninsular in South Wales. Gower was
Britain’s first designated Area
of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
It’s unique range of terrain
and scenery makes it an ideal location
for the pursuit of Bushcraft and other
outdoor pursuits. The Coastline in
the South supports Sandy beaches and
rugged Limestone Cliffs, and the North
is largely composed of Dune systems
and Salt Marshes. In between there
are areas of Heath and Woodland that
support a range of Flora and Fauna
to rival anywhere in the UK.
Survival
and Bushcraft Courses
Our courses range
from the 1 day introduction to Bushcraft,
through to expeditions of several
weeks. The courses are structured
according to the priorities of survival
under specific situations.
Bushcraft is not a spectator sport.
The emphasis is on realistic practical
experience, and our skilled instructors
will be on hand to assist you every
step of the way.
We also offer a range
of specialised courses and workshops
covering subjects such as Fire Lighting,
Wilderness Gourmet, Fungi Forage,
Primitive and Modern Traps and Tracking
Techniques, Bow Making, Traditional
Country Crafts, Disaster Preparedness
and many other subjects.
Other courses we
run include the Gower Castaway Experience,
a realistic shipwreck scenario starting
with a high speed boat ride around
the south Gower coast, and the Prehistoric
Gower course that incorporates practical
archaeology with visits to stone age
sites.
These courses are
run throughout the year and a full
schedule of courses is available on
our website.

Teambuilding
Our Scenario based
courses are the perfect way to get
the best out of your team.
Bushcraft and Survival training are
multidimensional activities that allow
every member of your group to participate
in a constructive and worthwhile way
regardless of age or physical ability.
As well as being a great tool for
building a strong cohesive team Bushcraft
also benefits people on an individual
level, with increased confidence,
self reliance, and interpersonal skills.
We have found that
the most effective methods of developing
a cohesive team are often the most
simple. Objectives such as fire-lighting
and shelter building achieve tangible
results, and create a sense of unity
within a group of people in ways that
could not be achieved through traditional
teambuilding activities. It can also
bring out personal qualities and attributes
that may not be apparent within a
normal working environment.
Our Teambuilding
courses are designed to be fun as
well as informative, and our experienced
instructors will be on hand throughout
the course to help your team get the
most out of the experience. There
are no sergeant major types working
for us, and all our staff are friendly
and helpful.
We are always discovering
new locations and ideas for teambuilding
courses and are very happy to design
a course to meet your specific criteria.
We are also happy
to arrange Hotel accommodation, catering
and conference facilities if required.
Please contact us
for further information about our
corporate packages.
